Mid-market trade: Sensex, Nifty stage rebound led by gains in realty, financial services & energy stocks
In a volaile session in Tuesday’s trade amid a rebound, equity benchmarks recovered their day’s losses. At the last count, NSE’s Nifty50 was down by just 0.07 per cent or 16.55 points at 22,443.75, while the BSE Sensex traded lower by 0.18 per cent or 136.38 points at 73,978.79.
Meanwhile, the broader markets also narrowed their earlier losses, however smallcap continued to trade lower, with the smallcap index down over 1.4 per cent.
Sectorally, after a broad based sell-off in early trade, there has been seen gaining in select pockets including financial services, FMCG, Realty, pharma and oil & gas stocks.
Realty gauge led the gainers list, gaining a hefty over 2 per cent, as at the last count.
However, IT pack bleeded as tech-heavy Nasdaq slipped in the previous day as fresh recessionary concerns surfaced in the US amid tariff actions under the administration of US President Donald Trump.
The index slumped up to 2 per cent and last was down 1.44 per cent.
