No Clarity for Fed Until at Least September, Economists Say
It will take months yet before the Federal Reserve can get a clear idea of how Trump administration policy changes will shape the US economy, making officials unlikely to consider a change to interest rates before September, according to economists surveyed by Bloomberg News.
More than 90% of respondents said it will take at least until September before the central bank has enough clarity to make a determination on the economic impact of trade, immigration and spending policies. A little more than half said that clarity wouldn’t come until at least the fourth quarter, with some betting it would arrive only after this year.
