Cases will be taken over by the reserve judge starting on April 28, according to Milwaukee County Chief Judge Carl Ashley.
Cases assigned to Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugen will be taken over by a reserve judge starting on April 28, according to Milwaukee County Chief Judge Carl Ashley.FBI agents arrested Dugan on April 25 at the Milwaukee County Courthouse on charges of obstruction after she allegedly interfered with a federal immigration arrest operation.FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest on social media, stating Judge Dugan misdirected agents from detaining Eduardo Flores Ruiz, an undocumented migrant, after a court appearance April 18.Before federal Judge Stephen Dries, Dugan was charged with two federal crimes. The first count is concealing a person from discovery and arrest, and the second is obstruction of federal government proceedings. If convicted, the charges could result in a maximum penalty of six years in prison. The judge ordered her released on her recognizance.According to court documents, Flores-Ruiz was set to appear in court on April 18 before Dugan for a pretrial conference in a case where he had been charged with three misdemeanor counts of battery/domestic abuse on March 12.The complaint alleges that Dugan sought to help Flores-Ruiz evade arrest by federal officers from an ICE task force.Ruiz managed to evade initial detention but was later apprehended after a foot pursuit, court records show.
