Social Security is making payments of $2,000 on average on Wednesday, June 11: discover who gets a check
Millions of U.S. seniors are due to receive their latest Social Security retirement check in the coming days.
In what is the second round of payments on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) schedule for June 2025, the agency is scheduled to issue another batch of monthly retirement benefits on Wednesday, June 11.
The SSA will also be sending out Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and survivor benefits.
Who receives Social Security benefits on Wednesday, June 11?
Of the nearly 70 million recipients of retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits in the U.S., most get their money on one of three Wednesdays each month.
Each beneficiary’s designated Wednesday is determined by their date of birth.
On June 11, the SSA is scheduled to distribute payments to recipients whose birthday falls between the 1st and the 10th of each month. This is the first of June’s trio of Wednesday payments:
Wednesday payment schedule – June 2025:
- Weds., June 11: Recipients born on 1st to 10th
- Weds., June 18: Recipients born on 11th to 20th
- Weds., June 25: Recipients born on 21st to 31st
Who is paid outside of the three-Wednesdays schedule?
If you started receiving retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits before May 1997, you are typically issued your check on the third of each month, irrespective of your date of birth.
What’s more, beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) scheme – a separate program for low-income individuals who are over 65 or have a disability – are normally paid on the first of each month.
If you claim both SSI and any of the SSA’s retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits, you generally get the former on the first and the latter on the third.
However, as June began on a Sunday, this month’s SSI checks were issued early: payment was brought forward to the nearest working day, which was Friday, May 30.
