Social Security is sending out payments of $2,000 on average on Wednesday, June 11: find out who’s getting a check
Many American retirees are scheduled to get their latest Social Security check next week.
In what is the second batch of payments on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) schedule for June 2025, the agency is due to send out another round of monthly retirement benefits on Wednesday, June 11.
The SSA will also be distributing Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and survivor benefits.
Who gets a Social Security check on Wednesday, June 11?
Of the U.S.’s nearly 70 million recipients of retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits, most receive their money on one of three Wednesdays each month.
Each beneficiary’s designated Wednesday is decided by their date of birth.
On June 11, the SSA is scheduled to issue payments to recipients whose birthday falls between the 1st and the 10th of each month. This is the first of June’s trio of Wednesday payments:
Wednesday payment schedule in full – June 2025:
- Born on 1st to 10th: Weds., June 11
- Born on 11th to 20th: Weds., June 18
- Born on 21st to 31st: Weds., June 25
Who gets Social Security outside of the three-Wednesdays schedule?
If you began claiming retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits before May 1997, you are typically sent your check on the third of each month, regardless of your date of birth.
What’s more, recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) – a separate benefit for low-income individuals who are over 65 or have a disability – are normally paid on the first of each month.
If you claim both SSI and any of the SSA’s retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits, you generally get the former on the first and the latter on the third.
However, as June began on a Sunday, this month’s SSI payments were brought forward to the nearest working day. They were therefore scheduled to go out on Friday, May 30.
