KeyBanc analyst John Vinh upgraded Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) stock to overweight with a $60 price target this morning.
“We expect outsized data center demand from hyperscalers this year to be a significant tailwind for DCAI,” said Vinh. “Our checks indicate INTC is almost sold out for the year in server CPU, and given the strength in demand, the Company is considering a 10-15% ASP increase.”
Vinh also had kind words for Intel’s foundry business, noting “significant progress being made on foundry with 18A yields improving to over 60% and good enough to ramp Panther Lake. While not best in class, as TSMC was at 70-80% when it launched 2nm … 60%+ yield is significantly better than SF2 at Samsung Foundry, which we believe is less than 40%.”
Last but not least, Vinh notes that Apple may be using Intel 18A “for low-end M- series processors for MacBooks and iPads, which is expected go into production in 2027.” Apple may also use Intel 14A technology “to support low-end mobile A-series processors for iPhones in 2029.”
Intel stock is up more than 7% on the news.
KeyBanc analyst John Vinh upgraded AMD (Nasdaq: AMD) stock to overweight with a $270 price target this morning.
After downgrading the stock in April on worries of an “air pocket in demand between MI355 and the launch of its rack-scale Helios platform with MI455,” Vinh says he’s now seeing the opposite happen.
“Our supply chain checks indicate the recent surge in hyperscaler demand has led to AMD to almost being completely sold out of server CPU in 2026 and is potentially considering a price increase of 10-15% in 1Q26. We estimate server CPU for AMD will grow at least 50% this year. Regarding AI GPUs, we’re seeing indications of 200K MI355 GPUs in the 1H and a significant ramp of MI455 in the 2H, of which 290K-300K is targeted for its rack scale solution Helios.”
The analyst is forecasting “AI revenues this year in the range of $14B-$15B,” which should mean AI chips will account for about one-third of AMD’s total revenue this year.
Investors are thrilled with the news that AMD is growing its AI business so rapidly. The shares are up nearly 6% this morning.
Megabank and S&P 500 component JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) beat earnings by 37 cents this morning, reporting $4.86 per share in profit for Q4 2025. Revenue for the quarter came in at $46.8 billion versus a consensus estimate of $46.2 billion. On guidance, the banker says net interest income in 2026 will be more than analysts are forecasting, about $103 billion.
Despite all this good news, JPMorgan stock is down 1% today.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday that the Consumer Price Index rose only 0.3% month-on-month in December, and only 2.7% over the last 12 months. This was 0.1 percentage point less than expected. Core inflation (which doesn’t count food and energy prices) rose at a 2.6% annual rate, also less than expected.
The good news gives the Federal Reserve extra room to lower interest rates if it wants to — and investors always want it to — because lower rates tend to inspire inflation. If inflation had already been rising rapidly, the chances of the Fed dropping rates further this month and creating even more inflation would diminish. Currently, economists anticipate the Fed will lower interest rates at least twice this year.
The Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (NYSEMKT: VOO) is responding positively to today’s news, up about 0.1% in early trading.
Defense news
In a striking development that’s becoming more and more common, the U.S. government is making another direct investment in an American company. This morning, defense company and S&P 500 component L3Harris (NYSE: LHX) announced it will spin off its rocket motors business, previously known as Aerojet Rocketdyne before L3 bought it.
The company also said the Department of Defense (aka now as “the Department of War”) will invest $1 billion in the spinoff by buying convertible preferred stock. This stock will convert to common stock after the IPO.
L3Harris hopes to conduct the IPO in H2 2026.
