Stock Market News: Dow Set to Open Up
Chinese shares ended mostly higher, led by energy stocks. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.9% to 2994.73, while the Shenzhen Composite Index was 0.8% higher.
Investors were digesting the latest Caixin PMI data, which showed China’s factory activity expanding at a faster rate in June, in contrast with the official index remaining in contraction territory. PetroChina advanced 1.1% and China Petroleum & Chemical Corp added 1.1%. Decliners included CATL, which was 2.2% lower, and BYD, down 1.4%.
