Stock market today: Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq futures tread water after 2-day rally with Fed meeting in focus
US stock futures were broadly steady on Tuesday following two days of gains as investors concerned about economic slowdown looked to the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting for insight.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures (YM=F) and S&P 500 futures (ES=F) both hovered below the flat line. Contracts on the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 (NQ=F) edged down roughly 0.2%.
Stocks continued to recover on Monday from last week’s sell-off, which saw the S&P 500 enter correction territory amid concerns about the US economy’s ability to sustain President Donald Trump’s trade war.

Wall Street’s attention is now turning to the Fed’s two-day policy meeting, which kicks off on Tuesday. Chair Jerome Powell has said the central bank will exercise caution when it comes to interest rate cuts and is seeking out economic data. The Fed is largely expected to hold rates steady in its policy decision on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Commerce Department will release data on housing starts for February.
