Subway slasher attacks woman at Wall Street station

A 29-year-old woman was slashed multiple times on a subway in the Financial District by a knife-wielding man who stole her phone before fleeing the scene, authorities say.

Police say the woman was on a northbound 3 train at the Wall Street station just after 11 p.m. Wednesday when the stranger attacked her.

She suffered cuts to her arm, elbow, both hands, and back. She was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to be OK.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect (above).
