Tamannaah Bhatia denies her involvement in Cryptocurrency scam, calls reports 'Misleading'
Tamannaah Bhatia denies allegations
Tamannaah Bhatia has denied her involvement in a Rs 2.4 crore cryptocurrency scam, describing recent reports linking her to the fraud as “fake and misleading.” The actor expressed her strong disapproval of the rumors and clarified that she has no connection to any illegal cryptocurrency schemes.
The actress released a statement and said, “It has come to my attention that rumours are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealing with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumours.” She made it clear that these reports were baseless, and requested the media to refrain from spreading such claims.
The controversy arose after reports surfaced claiming that Tamannaah, along with fellow actor Kajal Aggarwal, was likely to be summoned by the Puducherry Police in connection with an ongoing cryptocurrency scam. The case, which allegedly involves a Rs 2.4 crore fraud, has sparked significant attention. The reports suggested that a Coimbatore-based firm had lured investors, including a group of 10 people led by a resident named Ashokan, into an illicit cryptocurrency scheme. Ashokan claimed that he and his associates were duped after attending a company launch event in 2022 where Tamannaah was reportedly present. Kajal Aggarwal was also mentioned in connection with a later event in Mahabaleshwar. However, as of now, no official statement has been made by the police regarding the involvement of the actors or any potential summons.
In response to these claims, Tamannaah made it clear that her team was actively investigating legal options.
“In the meantime, my team is looking into the same to initiate appropriate action,” she continued in her statement, emphasizing her commitment to addressing the issue through the proper legal channels. The actress’s swift and firm reaction highlights her determination to safeguard her reputation against false accusations.
The issue first gained traction when 123Telugu reported on the complaint filed by Ashokan with the Puducherry Police. His complaint alleged that the Coimbatore-based firm defrauded him and his friends by convincing them to invest large sums in a cryptocurrency scheme.
However, the report’s mention of Tamannaah and Kajal’s names has sparked controversy, with many fans and industry insiders expressing support for the actresses, given the lack of credible evidence to link them to the scam.
Despite the ongoing media frenzy, there has been no official confirmation from law enforcement regarding the actresses’ involvement or any summons. It remains unclear whether Tamannaah or Kajal will be required to cooperate with the investigation, though both actors have strongly denied any wrongdoing.
