Telangana Nets ?3.2 Lakh Cr Investments in 18 Months
Hyderabad, Jul 24 (PTI) Telangana has secured over ?3.2 lakh crore in fresh investments over the last 18 months, with significant opportunities emerging in AI, green hydrogen, renewable energy, life sciences, electric vehicles, logistics, and other sectors, said IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Thursday.
Speaking at the Investopia Global summit, co-hosted by the UAE and the Telangana government, Babu emphasized that the state is aiming to become a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047.
Exports from Telangana to the UAE have surged 2.5 times in the last financial year, with key sectors including pharmaceuticals, aerospace, digital services, and food processing driving this growth. UAE companies like Lulu Group, DP World, and NAFFCO have already invested in the state.
Babu highlighted Telangana’s plans to expand dry ports, multimodal logistics parks, and industrial corridors. Upcoming projects such as net-zero industrial parks, electric vehicle zones, green logistics hubs, Metro Phase–2, and the Regional Ring Road (RRR) are set to further accelerate industrial development.
The minister also spoke about the upcoming Future City, which will serve as a global hub for fintech, climate tech, and smart mobility. Telangana recorded a GSDP growth of 8.2% in 2024–25, outpacing the national average of 7.6%, with its contribution to India’s GDP surpassing 5%.
