USPS hiring for jobs starting at $56,000
NEW YORK (PIX11) – The United States Postal Service is looking to hire for various positions within the five boroughs, as listed on its careers site.
The full-time career positions include technician and mechanic roles with starting salaries of about $56,000.
Some positions may have an exam requirement that prospective candidates will be invited to take after applying.
Among some of the open positions are maintenance mechanics needed in Manhattan and Jamaica, Queens. Applicants will be required to take a test and must be able to demonstrate mechanical comprehension. The starting salary is $56,830 paid bi-weekly.
The agency is also looking for an automotive technician in Staten Island and a lead automotive technician in Brooklyn. Both positions require applicants to have a valid state driver’s license and at least two years of experience driving passenger cars or larger.
The automotive technician job starts at $63,658 while the lead position starts at $71,056.
All career positions include insurance, 401K benefits, paid federal holidays, vacation, and sick leave. Applications for the positions will close on Nov. 15.
