What Savannah James has said about LeBron James’ potential retirement plans
LeBron James has a lot to discuss with his family. On April 30, the Los Angeles Lakers star opened up about his future with the team — and if retirement was on the table. After losing against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5, James was asked in a post-game press conference if his time was up.
“I don’t have an answer to that. Something I’ll sit down with my family, my wife and my support group, have conversations with myself on how long I want to continue to play. We’ll see,” he told reporters.
While James hasn’t made a final decision, fans of the player are wondering where his wife stands on the matter. Savannah James has yet to make a public comment about her thoughts, however, James has mentioned her opinions on his career on several occasions.
The mother of three has been extremely supportive of the superstar’s endeavors — but there is one thing they don’t always agree on; his sleep schedule.
James admitted on “Mind The Game” in April 2025 that she isn’t a fan of his bedtime. “She gets mad at me when it’s time for me to go to bed. That’s how much I love, sleep, and take care of my body. But about nine o’clock at night. I’m like, ‘what time, what time you going to bed?’ She’s like, ‘you’re going to sleep?’ Yeah, like, I am.”
The High School sweethearts may not see eye-to-eye all the time, but it seems no matter what, they have each other’s back. When it comes to being a support system the 40-year-old revealed how important it is to have his wife by his side.
“A person like myself always needs a great sidekick and a person you can rely on no matter the circumstances. And she’s that. She’s got my back and I love her for that,” he reportedly told Harper’s Bazaar in 2010.
