WASHINGTON (AP) — The economic boom promised by President Donald Trump centers on a single number: $17 trillion.
That’s the sum of new investments that Trump claims to have generated with his tariffs, income tax cuts and aggressive salesmanship of CEOs,
President Donald Trump took to social media Monday morning to extol various parts of the U.S. economy that add up to “the best of all worlds” for the country.
Trump posted his message as the work week began with the sixth day of the federal shutdown, which was forced by Democrats’ unwillingness to support Republicans’ clean continuing resolution.

Invest-95 has a high chance of development, according to the National Hurricane Center. It’s too soon to tell if it will impact Florida or the U.S., but it’s still something to monitor.For now, the system is in the open Atlantic, several hundred miles from the Cabo Verde islands, but is working toward the Caribbean islands.
The National Hurricane Center is tracking Invest 95L in the central Atlantic.
The system is expected to strengthen into a tropical depression by the middle of the week as it approaches the Caribbean.

“It is becoming likely that this will organize into a tropical storm this week,”
Meteorologists are monitoring a disturbance in the Atlantic that has the potential to become the next named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

Several upcoming events mark key inflection points for the future of U.S. trade policy. On October 1, pharmaceutical and truck tariffs took effect. In addition, new duties of up to 25% on timber, kitchen cabinets, and furniture will come into force on October 14.
