Nvidia (NVDA +0.84%)‘s stock is having another terrific year in 2026, rising by around 24% thus far. Although it was initially off to a poor start, it’s beating the market yet again, as the S&P 500 has risen by a more modest rate of 13%.

Asian markets were mixed, with South Korea and Taiwan among the markets showing gains, while Hong Kong and Australia traded lower. The Hang Seng Index fell 141.87 points, or 0.56%, to 25,271.25. South Korea’s Kospi gained 133.69 points, or 1.91%, to 7,129.08, while Taiwan’s index rose 184.81 points, or 0.39%, to 47,511.08.

Japan’s Nikkei was up 120.73 points,

The US currently has in place a 25% tax on Canadian cars and trucks, as well as taxes on Canadian steel, aluminium and lumber. In late August, President Donald Trump imposed new 50% tariffs on other goods like dairy, alcohol, hockey sticks and perfume.
