French-Italian-American carmaker Stellantis is planning to invest about $10bn (R172,580,006,000) in the US, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing people familiar with the situation.
Stellantis may announce in the coming weeks about $5bn (R86,300,500,000) in fresh investment on top of a similar amount earmarked earlier in the year, the report said.

Nifty 50 has begun the week on a positive note. The index opened with a gap-up and is trading higher now at 24,950, up 0.23 per cent. The advances/ declines ratio is at 22:28. This will need close watch during the day. If it inclines more towards the declines, then there is a danger of Nifty giving back the gains.
The yen’s slump against the greenback coincided with a potentially lengthy US government shutdown, raising expectations for aggressive Fed rate cuts. Kalshi currently predicts a 21.3-day shutdown, with 63% odds of surpassing 15 days and 52% for exceeding 20 days.

Copper prices rose on Monday to their highest level in more than 16 months, supported by concerns over supply from top producer Chile and major supplier Indonesia.
Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.4 per cent at $10,760 per metric ton, as of 0414 GMT, hitting its highest point since May 2024 and extending gains to a fourth session.
