The U.S.-China trade war has gone through multiple rounds of tariffs and retaliatory measures. In a span of three months, the tax on products imported to the U.S. from China went from 10% in February to 145% in April. China responded by raising tariffs on American imports, and among them was a 125% tax on rare earth elements and magnets used to make weapons and electronics.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — China is moving to strengthen its alliances with other countries as a counterweight to President Donald Trump’s trade war, presenting a united front with Latin American leaders a day after China and the U.S. agreed to a 90-day truce in their tariffs stalemate.

United States President Donald Trump has started his Middle East tour, arriving in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, just after 10am, where he was greeted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).

During his three-day trip, he will also travel to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with a focus on securing economic agreements with three of the world’s wealthiest nations.
