US stock market crash today wiped out hundreds of points within minutes of opening bell. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 777 points to 48,721.66, down 1.57%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 257.53 points to 22,620.85, while the S&P 500 slid 65.70 points to 6,843.16.
Shares on Wall Street tumbled on Friday as hotter-than-expected US producer price data intensified inflation concerns, adding to a growing list of headwinds that have rattled markets this month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) slid 789 points, or 1.6%, while the S&P 500 declined 0.9%. The Nasdaq Composite shared losses, falling 1.2%.

Dow crash today: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 48,746.58, down 752.62 points (-1.52%), marking one of the sharpest single-day declines of February 2026. The selloff was not random. It was data-driven and fear-driven. Hotter-than-expected US producer inflation, rising US-Iran war tensions, AI sector volatility, and a surge in oil prices combined to pressure equities across the board.
Oil prices shot higher on Friday morning after US-Iran talks ended in Geneva on Thursday with no deal and the US began ordering evacuations from embassies in the Middle East.
Futures on Brent crude (BZ=F), the international pricing benchmark, jumped by 2.9% to change hands above $72.90,
At the moment, shares of PLTR are up about $1 a share.
For the week, the stock is up about $5.60 and could push aggressively higher.
Helping analysts at Rosenblatt just initiated a buy rating on the stock with a price target of $150.
