Chris Hemsworth slams Alzheimer's and retirement claims as he clarifies future plans
While Chris did try to play down the fear and speculation around his health, outspokenly declaring that the results were “not a death sentence” at the time, the tales of him “reconsidering life” continued regardless.
The main driving force behind the speculation was Chris’ absence from Hollywood for months around the time his results were made public, but the actor assured he had simply been on a break as he moved back to Byron Bay, Australia.
Coincidentally, Chris’ priorities had also been shifting at the time as he wanted to spend more time with his family, including his model wife Elsa Pataky who stole the show at the Met Gala despite his co-chairing role.
The Furiosa actor is admittedly putting some physical space between himself and Hollywood but has no plans to retire, rather he simply wants to avoid becoming an “overly self-important pretentious w***er.”
Despite his fury at the misunderstanding around his test results, the Extraction star was able to find a silver lining as he recalled one hilarious fan comment that has stuck with him since the false news of his diagnosis and retirement was released.
He recalled reading: “I hope Chris forgets he’s retiring and comes back.”
