Hanwha Asset Management hosts Cathie Wood, forecasts 2030 growth on AI, robotics
Hanwha Asset Management said on the 16th that on the 15th it hosted “PLUS Coach Talk with Cathie Wood,” inviting Cathie Wood, chief executive officer (CEO) and chief investment officer (CIO) of global asset manager ARK Invest.
ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood predicted that productivity gains driven by disruptive technological innovation such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Robotics will lead global economic growth by 2030.
Wood said, “Powered by increased capital expenditure and productivity improvements stemming from disruptive innovation, the global real gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate could reach an annual 7.3% by 2030.”
Wood pointed to five core innovation areas that will drive growth: AI, public Blockchain, Robotics, energy storage, and multi-omics sequencing (bio-technology for analyzing biological information). She projected that the convergence of these technologies will drive global economic development.
In particular, in the Autonomous Driving market, she focused on the mass accumulation of driving data and the potential of robotaxi businesses, and predicted that the commercial introduction of humanoids, humanlike robots, will take shape around 2028.
Wood assessed that major technology corporations are creating substantial value even before pushing for initial public offerings (IPOs). She advised that attention should be paid to investment opportunities in unlisted companies.
Choi Young-jin, executive vice president of Hanwha Asset Management who attended the event, presented the tasks and vision that the domestic industry must undertake. Choi said, “Hanwha has been considering the roles that Korea’s defense industry, manufacturing, and infrastructure should play amid the reordering of the global order and the AI transformation.”
The event was arranged with a direct invitation from Hanwha Asset Management to Wood. Hanwha Asset Management plans to strengthen its partnership with ARK Invest and provide differentiated investment solutions that connect global innovation and investment opportunities in Korea’s strategic industries through the “Hanwha Finance PLUS” brand.
