Here’s what you need to know about the 2027 Social Security benefit boost

The 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment for 2027 will apply to the approximately 76 million Social Security recipients and another 7.3 million who receive Supplemental Security Income, the Social Security Administration said. It amounts to roughly a $75 average increase each month.
