I published 'Should I Invest?' | A book I want even those afraid of investing to read
I’m interested in investing, but I’m afraid of losing money.
I keep hearing about the new NISA, but should I start it too?
Have you ever thought about things like that?
I have written my first book for those who are hesitant about starting to invest.
📘 ‘Should I Invest?’
The experience of being asked for advice about money and investing by people close to me was one of the reasons I wrote this book.
📖 Who I want to read this
This book is an introductory guide for those with little knowledge or experience in investing.
For example,
-
Those who are interested in investing but are afraid of losing money
-
Those who are worried about whether they can prepare for the future with just savings
-
Those who are interested in the new NISA but don’t know where to start thinking about it
-
Those who see people around them starting to invest and are unsure what they should do
I would like such people to read this.
Age and gender do not matter.
I would be happy if this could serve as a reference for those who are about to start investing, as well as for those who are currently thinking they will not invest.
💡 Why I wrote a book in an age where you can look things up with AI
We live in an age where if you don’t know something, you can ask an AI and get a wealth of information.
It has become easier than ever to look up the mechanics of investing and the new NISA system.
I myself was helped a great deal by AI in the creation of this book.
So, in such an era, why go to the trouble of making it into a book?
That is because I wanted to convey not just knowledge, but my own thoughts gained from actually experiencing investment.
I am a very ordinary office worker.
I have continued saving and managing assets since graduating from high school, and I started investing around the age of 30.
I have about 20 years of investment experience.
Of course, I have failed, and I have experienced major market crashes.
It has not all gone well.
Through accumulating such experiences, I have come to feel that having investment knowledge and making decisions about your own money are not the same thing.
Both AI and books can serve as material for thinking.
But in the end, it is you who decides what to do with your own money.
I hope this book serves as a small catalyst for making that decision.
I wrote it with that thought in mind.
🌱 This is not a book that forces you to invest
In this book, I cover the differences between saving and investing, things to consider even if you don’t invest, how to face market crashes, and the basics of the new NISA.
I also introduce what I personally experienced during the 2020 COVID-19 shock and the financial preparations I want you to think about before you start investing.
However, investing does not guarantee that your money will increase.
Everyone’s living situation and available money are different.
I think it is perfectly fine to decide not to invest after reading it.
Instead of just copying someone else’s correct answer, I want you to think about the choice that suits you best.
That is what I want to convey in this book.
Rather than a difficult technical book, I was mindful of the length and the clarity of the illustrations so that even investment beginners can read it to the end.
📚 I have prepared both an e-book and a physical book
‘Should I Invest?’
Author: Utamasa
In the paper version, some explanations and illustrations have been added or adjusted based on the e-book version. The basic content and what I want to convey are the same.

Finally
Since this is my first publication, I don’t know how many people will read it.
Even so, I hope that those who are hesitant about investing will pick up this book and that it will be an opportunity for them to think even a little about their own money and future.
‘I’m glad I read it’
If readers feel that way, there is nothing that would make me happier as an author.
