J.B. Hunt included in latest Dow Jones sustainability leaders index
J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. said Thursday that it has been included in the Dow Jones Best-In-Class North American Index.
The company said it was one of four ground transportation companies included, and the only trucking company of the four.
The index is made up of global, regional and country benchmarks designed to recognize companies demonstrating strong environmental, social and governance practices within their industries.
Greer Woodruff, executive vice president of safety, sustainability and maintenance, said being recognized reflects the high standards and discipline behind how the company operates.
“As an industry leader, J.B. Hunt routinely advises customers, with our carbon diet methodology, on the most economically viable ways to reduce carbon intensity associated with their supply chain,” he said.
J.B. Hunt had previously been included on the predecessor to the index, the North American Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
The Lowell-based company said it remains committed to its goal to reduce carbon emissions intensity by 32% by 2034, from a baseline year of 2019.
