Millions of Social Security Payments Hitting Accounts Ahead of Schedule: Here's Why
Millions of Supplemental Security Income payments are arriving early on Friday, Oct. 30 because the regular payment date, Nov. 1, falls on Sunday. That means recipients get two October payments and none in November. These benefits support low-income seniors, people with disabilities and the blind. Some traditional Social Security payments are also coming early: Tuesday, Nov. 10 instead of Nov. 11, because of Veterans Day. The remaining November payments stay on schedule. Supplemental Security Income payments average about $740 a month.
