Social Security and SSI June payment schedule: When will you get paid?
Every month, millions of Americans depending on Social Security benefits to survive are thrown a lifeline when benefits come through — but exactly when that happens varies from person to person.
Social Security benefits are dispersed to beneficiaries on a staggered payment schedule based on recipients birthdays and when they first begin collecting payments.
Most recipients receive payments on Wednesday, based on their birth date, according to the agency’s official benefit calendar.
That means Social Security checks for June 2026 arrive on four different dates depending on the recipient.
Social Security payment schedule
Social Security payments are determined by the beneficiaries’ birth date.
In 2026, Social Security payments will continue to follow the standard rules for determining when payments are received:
- Beneficiaries born between the 1st-10th receive payment on the second Wednesday of each month
- Beneficiaries born between the 11th-20th receive payment on the third Wednesday
- Beneficiaries born between the 21st-31st receive payment on the fourth Wednesday
Social Security payment dates for June 2026
- June 3: People who began receiving Social Security before May 1997, or those who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income
- June 10: Recipients with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month
- June 17: Recipients with birthdays between the 11th and 20th
- June 24: Recipients with birthdays between the 21st and 31st
People who began receiving benefits before May 1997 generally receive their payments on the third day of each month instead.
Supplemental Security Income 2026 schedule
SSI follows a different monthly schedule.
Payments are typically issued on the first of the month, but adjustments occur when that date falls on a weekend or federal holiday.
This can mean no payment in one month and two payments in the next.
Beneficiaries who started receiving Social Security before May 1997 or who receive both Social Security and SSI may have slightly different schedules.
For June, SSI payments will be dispersed on June 1.
