Social Security COLA 2027: 10 States Where Retirees Will Get Largest Raise
Social Security’s 2027 cost of living adjustment is less than a month away, and the latest projections put the increase at 3.7 percent. Benefit differences in each state mean some retirees will get a bigger boost than others, and the annual COLA is added to that amount. According to The Motley Fool, the 10 states with the highest median Social Security benefits are led by New Jersey at $2,256 and Connecticut at $2,249. The current average beneficiary receives $1,940.08 in their monthly Social Security check, and with a 3.5 percent COLA, that would rise to $2,007.98.
