Social Security is being paid out on Wednesday, April 15: Who receives benefits tomorrow?
This week, certain Social Security recipients in the United States are to get their latest monthly benefits, in the penultimate payment on the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) schedule for April 2026.
Who’s receiving Social Security tomorrow, Wednesday, April 15?
The SSA is to send out Social Security benefits to recipients born on the 11th to 20th of any month. (NB: If you claim based on someone else’s work record, the agency uses the other person’s birthday.)
Of the just under 71 million Americans who receive Social Security – whether retirement, disability or survivor benefits – most are paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in each month.
In April 2026, this birthday-dependent payment cycle is:
- Born on 1st-10th of any month: Wednesday, April 8
- Born on 11th-20th of any month: Wednesday, April 15
- Born on 21st-31st of any month: Wednesday, April 22
How much money do Social Security beneficiaries get?
- Retired workers: $2,079.49
- Disabled workers: $1,634.51
- Survivor benefits: $1,624.37
(Average monthly benefit, according to SSA figures.)

Who isn’t paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in April 2026?
- Certain long-term beneficiaries: April 3
Social Security beneficiaries who began claiming before May 1997 are paid on the third of each month.
- Dual beneficiaries: April 3
Social Security can be combined with Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a separate program for certain low-income individuals. Recipients of both benefits get Social Security on the third, with SSI issed on the first.
