(WTNH) – Life doesn’t come with a reset button, but some people may wish it did. We are Stretching Your Dollar with some of the top retirement regrets that may have you thinking twice about how to manage your money.
It’s all about enjoying life’s exciting moments in the present and hoping you can live out the dream in the golden years.
However, the big question remains: What is the right way to save enough money? Bankrate put out a survey of retirement regrets that many have you thinking twice about your own planning.
Nearly 75 percent of survey participants said they wish they started saving earlier. Over a third said they would go back and choose investments that provide a steady income stream to pay off debts sooner. A quarter said they would have planned better for inflation.
Only about 27 percent said they are very confident about having enough money to last through retirement.
So the takeaway is that the looming retirement saving crisis has people rethinking the durability of their retirement plans and wishing they did things differently. It’s time to take a look at your own and see where you stand if you’re faced with inflation or other financial uncertainty later in life.
