Tech stocks today: All eyes on Nvidia earnings, as Apple debuts new Mac mini, Mac studio aimed at AI developers
It’s nearly here. The moment Wall Street waits for every quarter since the AI trade kicked off: Nvidia’s (NVDA) second quarter earnings.
Yes, while its Big Tech peers reported their results nearly a month ago, Nvidia is finally giving us the lowdown on its latest quarter when it reports Q2 earnings after the close on Wednesday.
For the quarter, Nvidia is expected to report second quarter adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $2.09 on revenue of $92 billion, according to Bloomberg analyst consensus estimates. That would mark a 96% year-over-year jump in overall revenue, and a continued quarter-over-quarter acceleration.
Nvidia isn’t the only tech giant making headlines. On Tuesday, Apple (AAPL) debuted new versions of its Mac Mini and Mac Studio aimed at AI developers.
The pint-sized desktops have quickly become must-haves in the AI world, so much so that certain models have become increasingly hard to find in stores.
The Mac Mini gained traction among AI enthusiasts and engineers thanks to its relatively low cost and ability to operate without a display. That made it ideal for running AI agents that handle tasks for developers, who can control them on the go from their smartphones or laptops.
The Mac Studio also drew engineers who didn’t necessarily need a display, as well as for its powerful chips.
