The Social Security Admin is sending out benefits today, Friday, October 30: who gets a payment?
Millions of benefits recipients in the U.S. are today being sent their latest monthly payment by the Social Security Administration (SSA).
Who gets paid by the Social Security Admin today, Friday, October 31?
Beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income scheme (SSI) are due to be issued their money for November 2026.
SSI is typically distributed on the first of each month, but November’s payment has been brought forward as the month begins on a Sunday.
Who is eligible for SSI in the U.S.?
A needs-based program with around 7.3 million recipients, per the SSA’s latest figures, SSI is for low-income, low-resource Americans who are over the age of 65 or have a disability.
Unlike the SSA’s Social Security scheme – which pays retirement, disability and survivor benefits to some 71.6 million people nationwide – eligibility for SSI does not depend on a claimant’s employment history.

When is the 2027 COLA announced?
Earlier in October, the SSA announced that recipients of SSI will get a 3.6% rise in their monthly payments in 2027. This will see the maximum individual benefit increase to $1,029 per month, while couples will be able to claim a payment of up to $1,544 per month.
The agency’s latest annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will come into effect starting with benefits paid out for January. For SSI beneficiaries, next year’s opening payment is set for Thursday, December 31, 2026.
