Two myths about ETFs, from someone who launched the ASX’s first
I still have the slide from 25 years ago: “Imagine purchasing a cost-efficient, diversified portfolio in one simple transaction,” it reads.
The year was 2001 and State Street was launching two ETFs, one tracking the S&P/ASX 200 index and the other the S&P/ASX 50 – the first ETFs listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
