Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway posts nearly $20B net stock purchases
One highlight: Berkshire invested about $10 billion in Alphabet (Google’s parent company), making it one of its biggest holdings now. It also spent $6.8 billion snapping up homebuilder Taylor Morrison.
Even with some economic uncertainty and softer consumer demand across its businesses, Berkshire’s operating profit jumped 16% to $12.98 billion for the quarter, while net income soared to $25.67 billion.
