XRP ETFs Recorded Over $150 Million in August. Can Inflows Grow Even Higher in September?
XRP ETFs just posted their strongest month of 2026, but nearly all the gains came in a single week. Three catalysts could push September even higher, and one Senate vote on the 15th could determine whether institutional money finally floods…

XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) Exchange Traded Funds gathered over $150 million in August, which was their best performance this year and roughly $18 million more than the previous 2026 high of $131.94 million recorded in May.
However, most of the funds’ best performance came in the final two weeks, with $110.49 million pulled in the week ending August 28 alone.
With the Senate cloture vote on the CLARITY Act set for September 15 and XRP trading above $1.3, can XRP ETFs build on August’s total in September, or was August’s number simply a fluke?
How Strong Were XRP ETF Inflows in August?
XRP ETFs recorded over $150 million in net inflows in August, the funds’ best performance of 2026. August’s total bettered the previous 2026 high of $131.94 million in May, $81.59 million in April, and $58.09 million in February.
The funds added roughly $1 million in the first 2 weeks of August, a two-week window that also recorded a $3.5 million outflow on August 5. However, according to SoSoValue, the funds added $31.78 million in the week ending August 21, followed by $110.49 million in the week ending August 28, the funds’ largest weekly total since the week ending December 5, when they pulled in around $231 million.
Bitwise’s fund led XRP ETF issuers in August, adding around $92 million, which is 61% of the $150 million the funds recorded in August. Franklin Templeton added roughly $36 million, while Canary Capital, despite being the second-largest fund by total assets, added only $15 million. The other 4 issuers contributed the rest of August’s total, adding around $7 million combined.
3 Catalysts That Could Push ETF Inflows Higher in September
3 catalysts could push XRP ETF inflows in September above August’s total, and each one works through a different buyer than the price rally that drove most of last month’s.
The CLARITY Act
Retail investors currently account for nearly 84% of XRP ETF inflows, while larger institutional capital that would drive huge inflows has remained on the sidelines because of XRP’s unresolved regulatory issues.
The Senate is scheduled to hold a cloture vote on September 15, a procedural step to end all debate and move the bill closer to a final Senate vote.
If the bill reaches a final vote and the Senate passes it in September, the CLARITY Act could address XRP’s regulatory concerns, giving institutional investors the confidence to hold the coin without hesitation and attracting more buyers than August’s impressive inflow did.
XRP Holding Its Price Gains
XRP currently trades around $1.39, up from a low of $0.99 in mid-August, and has held above $1.30 through the pullback from its $1.66 high.
If XRP can maintain steady price action, ETF investors will have more confidence that new purchases will not immediately lose value, which matters for buyers who stayed out during XRP’s decline earlier in the year.
If XRP can hold above $1.30 through September, some investors who avoided the coin during the decline earlier in August could return.
XRP Network Usage
XRP ledger daily active addresses grew about 35% in August, even though new-address creation stayed flat. That means existing users used the network more in August, a data point fund managers can cite when building a proposal for an XRP allocation that does not entirely depend on XRP price holding steady.
If the usage trend continues in September, it could improve XRP ETF inflows by building investors’ confidence and proving the network’s long-term utility to institutional investors.
Could XRP ETFs Top $150 Million in September?
XRP ETFs can beat August’s $150 million in September. So far in 2026, only May and August have topped over $130 million, and unlike both months, September starts with XRP’s price already trading above $1.30 instead of climbing off a low around $1.
The funds also recorded over $110 million of the $150 million in the final week of the month. If XRP ETFs can match only half of that pace for the whole of September, the funds would add net inflows of around $220 million. That level of buying only requires current buyers to continue buying at a rate lower than what the fundsrecorded in one week in August.
However, if the cloture vote on September 15 fails and XRP falls below $1.3, institutional investors would not arrive, and demand would most likely return to the meager numbers we saw in early August.
