Consumer spending has held up,” said Jason Draho, head of asset allocation for the Americas at UBS. However, he cautioned that this strength “could be fully offset” if higher energy prices persist for the next six months.

Amazon’s AI spending problem may have a demand answer.
The company’s cloud backlog — future business Amazon has already contracted but has not yet turned into revenue — jumped to $364 billion in the first quarter, CEO Andy Jassy said on the company’s earnings call.
And that figure doesn’t include Amazon’s recently announced Anthropic deal for more than $100 billion.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has delayed the expected launch of the first exchange-traded funds (ETFs) linked to prediction markets after requesting more information about their structure and disclosures, Reuters reported Monday.
The delay affects more than two dozen proposed ETFs from Roundhill Investments, GraniteShares and Bitwise, according to Reuters,
