Churchill Living has been granted planning permission for the independent living retirement apartments at a site in Keymer Road in Hassocks.

The apartments will provide “high quality, secure and self-contained accommodation designed to enable independence, freedom and low maintenance living for over 60s”.

The tropical wave we’ve been tracking in the Central Caribbean was tagged Invest 99-L on Tuesday afternoon. It will likely become a tropical depression by the end of the week.As the system moves into the western Caribbean Sea, the National Hurricane Center says it’s producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, the tropical wave has grown more organized and formation chances have increased for the coming days.The system is expected to meander through the weekend and then possibly move toward Florida as it lifts north into the Gulf of Mexico.It is too early to know the exact path of the disturbance.
